The name, Jane KENYON, will resonate for many with the painterly
textiles for which she gained a reputation at a time when textiles
were rarely seen in contemporary galleries. In recent years, KENYON
HAS ENTERED A NEW TRAJECTORY WITH HER PRIMARY FOCUS BEING PAINTING IN
A NON-objective style.
Amongst other art works, this exhibition features selections from
KENYON’s new series, VARIATIONS ON A RED TRIANGLE. Borne out of a
need to transcend the feeling of being ‘stuck’ in a particular
mode of expression, these works often explode on the surface,
referring to nothing other than a landscape of feelings, emotions and
sensations.
