October 10, 11, 12, Westie Inspiration and Rx - The Roundhouse Experiment are bringing JAKUB JAKOUBEK AND EMELINE ROCHEFEUILLE TO VANCOUVER AND VICTORIA!!! These are All Levels workshops! Rx is having a very special night at Performance Works on Granville Island for them. They'll teach a one hour lesson, and perform their latest Classic routine that won at The Open in 2024!!! Then there will be dancing with the Rx crew until 11:30! * In Victoria on Saturday, October 11, our day will start at 2pm (so you can be on the not-too-early 11am ferry to Victoria) with an hour of warm-ups with Shaii Woods! Then Jakub & Emeline will teach a two hour intensive!! Afterwards Shaii will lead a guided practice for 1 hour! Participants will have a break from 6 - 8pm. At 8pm, J'Em will teach a one hour lesson. Then there will be a dance until midnight during which Jakub and Emeline will do a demo!!! JAmes Atwill is coming to DJ!!! * On Sunday October 12, we'll warm-up our bodies with Shaii Woods for an hour starting at 1pm. Then we'll have a two hour intensive with Jakub and Emeline, followed by an hour of guided practice with Shaii!! So we'll be all done by 5pm. The full weekend pass is $230 per person for all of the above. To participate in just the Victoria workshops, it’s $200. BIOS JAKUB & EMELINE Natively from Czech Republic & Reunion Island, Jakub and Em took their first steps into the dance world at the age of 16 and 12, both starting in Ballroom. As soon as they discovered West Coast Swing, they were drawn to the creativity, musicality, and freedom. Their dance world is shaped around multiple influences such as urban dances, contemporary, modern, zouk, & contact improvisation; both being eager to learn and assimilate new tools from other dance forms to expand their library of movement, expression, and ways to connect. The J’Em story began in June 2016, when they were hired for a styling workshop to work together. They have been traveling the world together ever since, flying from country to country to share their passion for dancing. After years being part of the top 10 finalists at the US Open Swing Dance Championships, they just placed 1st in the Classic Division in November 2024. SHAII discovered his love for dance through his parents, social dance champions, Michael and Yvette Woods. With over 15 years of professional dance and acrobatic training and a minor in Modern Dance from Western University, he developed deep insight into movement and body dynamics. His national and international experience in performance and choreography led to founding Divine Movement Dance and Wellness under CameraShaii Productions. The company uses dance movement therapy and quantum principles to enhance mind-body connection. Divine Movement D&W focuses on the mission of being a catalyst to reconnect the mind, of those who seek healing through movement, with their physical form.
