Saturday August 15

8:15pm - 9:30pm

Cineworks Annex space: 235 Alexander Street, Vancouver BC

Cineworks invites you to view an outdoor artist presentation of Chroma Chamber, an interactive new media art installation from Vancouver based artist JG Mair.

If you could take any concept and distill it to one colour, what would that look like? Real-time Google image results are collated by programming to surround the viewer with the distilled colour of the words they speak. Driven entirely by open-source custom software written with Canadian programmer Bill Pettigrew, this installation taps programmers, designers, and musicians to create an immersive experience of color, light, and voice-user interface.

This event will observe social distancing guidelines promoted by the B.C. Ministry of Health. The artist presentation will take place in the outdoor loading bay area of our Annex space. We ask that attendees please RSVP via eventbrite before arriving, to help us control numbers and improve contact tracing. Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available for attendees, however there is no washroom access at this time.
