RULES AND REGULATIONS, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING:
ONE TOUR/SEASON.
If you or your group secure tickets for more than one Oak Island 2020
Tour, you have one week, from the date of purchase, to refund the
extra tickets. After that, the additional bookings will be refunded
by the provider. This new policy is to fairly accommodate as many
people as possible this 2020 Tour Season.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TICKETS. The online system allows you to
purchase up to 6 tickets for your family or group. When you book a
tour, you must include all of the names of the participants at the
time of purchase.
TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. If you, or anyone in your
group, cannot use a ticket, you must request a refund so that
tickets can be put back in the system to provide an opportunity for
others. To help facilitate that, we suggest you sign up for
Eventbrite prior to February 1st, 2020.
REFUND POLICY. Full refunds are offered up to 7 days prior to your
tour.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Tour cancellations due to circumstances beyond the control of Oak
Island Tours or the Friends of Oak Island, will not be reschedule in
the near or distant future. This policy was created after the
learning experience when a weekend tour cancellation happened due to
Hurricane Dorian and 200 tickets were cancelled.
Atlantic Canada, similarly to the Eastern Seaboard of the United
States can experience hurricanes or near-hurricane force weather
conditions. Hurricane season for land along the Atlantic Basin is from
Early June to the end of November.
While both Friends of Oak Island and Oak Island Tours won’t let a
bit of rain and wind dampen our tour spirit, we recognize that
conditions could arise making a tour a potentially dangerous
endeavour.
In the event either organization makes the call that the weather risks
outweigh the safety of our guests, tickets will be fully refunded.
Regrettably we are not in a position to reschedule those bookings into
other tours. For reasons of safety and quality of guest experience we
will not move guests from a cancelled tour into another tour that is
already fully booked.
We are happy to say that in the 10 years Friends of Oak Island has
been hosting tours, we have only cancelled once because of a
hurricane.
Cancelling a tour as a result of an event beyond the organizer's
control is a decision that is not made lightly. Decisions are made in
the interest of visitor safety. Our policies and
procedures regarding tour cancellation are:
i) Ticket holders will be notified, via email, as soon as decision is
made.
ii) You will receive a complete refund of the ticket(s) purchased.
iii) Refunded ticket(s) cannot be rescheduled in the current or
future seasons.
Our 50 person (max) Small Public Tour allows more time with the tour
guide. You have an opportunity to ask questions. The 2 hour long
tour starts and ends at the Oak Island Interpretive Centre where you
can view artifacts and learn a little more about the Oak Island story.
Your guide will describe the long history of the famous treasure
hunt and the men and women who devoted their lives in the search for
answers. Along the tour route you will stop at several locations
including the Money Pit, Borehole 10X and Smith’s Cove.
Access to golf cart seats are available for people who require it.
Tours run rain or shine.
