Managing money for both your Company and you personally is the Theme at our June 27, 2017 dinner. (last before summer)  Michael Yasny an  expert in making the Finance Dept a Profit Centre will be our speaker at our first session. We have a panel discussion amongst three different experts from the  Financial Services sector, facilitated by Karen Hoernig in the second segment. This promises to be a huge opportunity for learning, all in one evening.

Reading the business and financial sections in news recently, you’ve likely seen many indicators of significant changes in the financial services sector.  Below is a list that is in no way comprehensive .  Our panel of three experts will answer questions about the trends and changes impacting us all.

  • Federal investigation into the sales practices at Canadian banks
  • Different investment options – Stocks, Real Estate, Mutual Funds, RRSPs, ETFS, GICS and the complexities of choosing your best options
  • CRM2 – new government regulations on fee transparency
  • Responsive Market Regulation
  • Fintech -  much more than the latest hip lingo, it represents a disruptor trend that is dramatically changing how we live and do business impacting mobile payments, money transfers, mobile banking, loans, insurance, fundraising, trading, and even asset management.  A recent report from Accenture found that global investment in Fintech has skyrocketed from $930 million back in 2008 to over $12 billion by the beginning of 2015.  This growth is only likely to continue.
  • Ensuring retirement financial security

In the first session, Michael Yasny will educate you to be more valuable to the companies you work for. Learn how to help bring in more sales for your company, resulting in a larger, stronger  profitability, without credit risk or cost the company AND reducing tension between the credit and sales departments. You will learn about alternative financing tools that will allow your company’s sales team to close sales with customers who would otherwise be lost because of their weak credit.

ACTION:  To make the best of our time, please forward would like questions that you addressed to Karin Hoernig at KarinatTFN@gmail.com  or Larry Cooper at l.m.cooperc.a@sympatico.ca.  We will collate the questions in advance to identify common themes and send them to participants and the panel in advance of the meeting.  The questions you put forward will be kept confidential.
