While studying computer science at the University of Toronto, Jagga co-founded Wombo, a viral lip-syncing app that utilized AI to animate user selfies into singing videos. Launched in 2021, Wombo quickly became Canada's fastest-growing consumer app, amassing over 60 million users and attracting investments from notable firms, including Sound Ventures. In 2023, Akshat transitioned from Wombo to explore new avenues in AI applications. He co-founded Dippy AI, an open-source, mobile-first platform offering uncensored AI companions designed for empathetic and context-aware interactions. Dippy AI gained significant traction, reaching over 4 million active users by 2025 and processing more than 300 million user messages monthly. Under Jagga's leadership, Dippy AI secured $2.1 million in pre-seed funding from investors such as Drive Capital and Hustle Fund. The platform's success is attributed to its unique features, including anime-styled characters with persistent memory and a chain-of-thought explanation feature that enhances user engagement.
