“When the breath is steady, the mind is steady”
Based on traditional, balanced yoga postures (Hatha) this one-hour
class focuses on breath, body and mind. Taught by Allison Rietta,
she invites movement and mindfulness to our bodies, using the breath
to help keep us in the present moment. Experience how conscious and
focused breathing helps open the body and calm the mind as you move
fluidly from one posture to the next. Allison studied with Ante and
Felicia at Yoga Therapy Toronto (300hr). With her yoga foundation
rooted heavily in yoga therapy, all of Allison’s classes are taught
classically with a therapeutic focus.
_Class may also include:_
* Pranayama: Practising different conscious breathing techniques
during class to help still our minds, and allow space in our heart for
our truest intention to flourish.
* Meditation: Turn your attention within. Sitting meditation is
like returning home to give full attention to and care for our self.
We will be practising guided and silent sitting meditations.
_Classroom guidelines:_
* Please arrive on time or 5 minutes prior to class.
* Please advise of any injury, medical condition or limitations
before the class starts.
* Please maintain a neutral body odour, and refrain from wearing
perfume, cologne or any scents out of respect for other students who
may have any allergies or sensitivities.
* Please turn off all cell phones and electronic devices before
entering the studio.
* Mats and props are provided, however you are welcome to bring your
own yoga mat.
