6th International Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium
The Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium is a two-day conference taking place on the campus of the University of Kaiserslautern. The conference will comprise approx. 50 paper presentations and 15 poster presentations, with the focus being on international trends and technological developments in the commercial vehicle industry. The symposium will be accompanied by a special exhibit with companies and a special vehicle exhibit.

The trend towards ever higher levels of automation and even autonomy is fueled by the increasing degree of networking and the use of Artificial Intelligence. However, networking and Artificial Intelligence also represent obstacles to market introduction, as they are in conflict with traditional approaches for assuring safety. In this presentation, we will explain this conflict and present appropriate solution components.
Modeling of Operational Aspects for Autonomous Vehicle Development

When considering the sensors and actors involved in the use of autonomous driving functions or advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), precise and clear communication between the various stakeholders in vehicle development is essential. In Model-Based Systems Engineering  (MBSE), this can be achieved by modeling so-called operational aspects. The presentation illustrates the modeling of operational aspects using the example of an “Evasive Maneuver Assistant”.
