Corpus Christi In La Orotava Tenerife 2020

Corpus Christi, the Catholic holiday in honor of the ”holy beard”, is celebrated on Thursday after Trinity Sunday. All over Tenerife, it is celebrated in folklore music and parades. The most beautiful fiesta can be seen in La Orotava. On the holiday, the city streets and squares are closed to traffic. Instead, it is covered with colorful carpets made of various kinds of flowers mixed with colored sand that was brought from the near hills.
