Barcelona's Festa Major De Gracia takes place in August each year for a week and is one of the city's most anticipated events. The Gracia Festival is considered by many to be Barcelona's most festive and welcoming street festival. All year long, the residents of Gracia work on elaborate decorations with themes such as marine life, the solar system, or even local politics, to hang in the streets. Decorations are probably the most important part of the Festa Major de Gràcia, as residents compete passionately to make their street the best decoratedLocal groups from across the city come to the festival to perform each evening during the course of the week making this a must-see Barcelona experience.
