LE NORD RENCONTRE LE SUD lllla Grange Dîmière9 Rue de Prieuré49070
BeaucouzéFranceTwo years ago, almost to the day, we were in Italy
with our first exhibition in the series "North meets South".This time
we travel to France, more specifically the Loire Valley. There, right
next to Angers, lies the prosperous town of Beaucouzé with our
exhibition venue la Grange Dîmière. It was built in 1740 and was
used to store taxes that were received from the farmers in the area -
the "Tithe Barn". In 1989, the building was purchased by Beaucouzé
municipality and used as a library until 2006 when it became a media
library. A few years later, architect Bruno Duquoc rebuilt the barn
and gave it a modern look, which is perfect for organizing art
exhibitions. The Loire Valley is the area around the middle part of the
Loire River, which is the longest in France and winds its way through
the valley with flowering gardens and grand renaissance castles such
as Angers, Amboise, Blois, Chambord and Chenonceaux. Along the scenic
river also grow the grapes that give rise to the famous Loire wines. As
there is a limited number of places for this exhibition, the selection
is ongoing and we will close the exhibition for the application on
September 30, 2019.North Meets South l North Meeets South ll
