Les Courants de la Liberté, Normandy Running Festival is a run event
which was created in 1988 in order to pay tribute to the D-Day
Landings events, with running courses through the main landings
places, such as Juno and Sword Beach, Pegasus Bridge, Ouistreham
Casino,…). The Marathon de la Liberté is the leading event of Les
Courants de la Liberté, on the legendary distance of 42.195km.
Tribute to History, Le Marathon de la Liberté is sometimes called the
D-Day Landing’s Marathon and is also known as the Caen Marathon. It
has been awarded the FFA national label. Its course is one of the most
beautiful ones in France. The Pegasus is a half-marathon which has
been awarded the FFA national label. With more than 4,500 participants
every year, it is one of the most popular races in Normandy. La
Pegasus is a qualifier for the French Championships and is one of the
most important running competitions in France. This race, named after
the famous bridge from which it sets off, was the first bridge
liberated by British soldiers from the 6th Airborne Division. With a
compact course that offers very pleasant running conditions and an
ideal time, La Pegasus is an unmissable event for all running
