Time is running out! We are at a tipping point where we have the
ability to prevent irreversible damage to our planet. 2019 is the Year
of Green Action; young people are demanding a greener, sustainable
future which prioritises the environment. Momentum for action is
building – will you be part of this change? We want your thoughts,
ideas and opinions on current environmental matters and what we can
all do to make a real difference. There will be inspirational keynote
speakers, hands-on workshops and an open forum to discuss and debate
with fellow students.
You will learn lobbying and promotional skills, improve your knowledge
of our native species and at the same time be part of something that
could enhance your UCAS applications and CVs.
By the end of the day, together we will have six Pledges for
Nature - six actions for schools in Surrey and beyond to adopt and
make a lasting difference to the state of nature in the UK.

FAQS
HOW MANY STUDENTS CAN I BRING?
Maximum 8 students and 2 staff per school.
WHAT IS THE COST?
This event is free, but booking is essential via this Eventbrite page.
It is intended to enrich the learning of 6th form students and engage
them with environmental issues.
WHAT ARE MY TRANSPORT/PARKING OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO AND FROM THE
EVENT?
There is no direct public transport to the site and there is limited
parking at Nower Wood, so we are encouraging car sharing where
possible. Ideally, each school can fit their attending staff and
students into one car and not need to bring a minibus, which would
take up additional parking space. Alternatively, parents may be able
to drop off students on the morning.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE EVENT?
You need to bring suitable outdoor footwear and clothing, somerthing
to write on and a smart device (tablet or phone, for example) to be
able to fully participate in the workshops. A hot lunch is provided,
as well as refreshments thoughtout the day.
