The Introduction to Milling course is run over two days with a maximum of five students. Whether you've never used a mill before or not touched one since you were at school, our experienced tutor will have you confidently cutting metal in no time.

What you will learn

You will embark on a two day project where you will learn a range of techniques. From calculating cutting speeds and work holding techniques to different machining methods and the use of the rotary table, you will learn all you need to confidently cut metal on the mill.

  • Vee Block (made by you)
  • Certificate of attendance
  • ‘How to’ - Course details

Items you take home can change depending on the resources and materials available on the day.

Additional information

You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown of the machines you will be using.

No metal working experience is needed.

The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours. If you would like to read our terms and conditions click here.
