Mini Marathon

On Sunday 29th April 1,500 children will challenge themselves to complete a 2.62 mile sponsored run around Royal Greenwich Park.

Taking place one week after the Virgin London Marathon, the Hospice Mini Marathon will once again put the Fun back into fun running!

With a big emphasis on having fun, there is no pressure for children to run the whole way – they can dress up in their favourite fancy dress to run, walk, jog and, most important of all, enjoy the brilliant experience of taking part in the Hospice Mini Marathon!

The Hospice Mini Marathon is one tenth of the distance of a full marathon and is no less of a challenge for the thousands of children who have signed up over the years, especially as the route follows the paths within Royal Greenwich Park which includes running up The Avenue hill!

All funds raised will help support the work of the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

There is a £7.50 per child registration fee which covers the cost of running the event so we do ask that children try to raise as much sponsorship as they can to support the work of the Hospice.

Every child will receive a special Mini Marathon medal at the end. Plus Bills Restaurant in Greenwich is very kindly offering 20% off all food to all Mini Marathon participants dinning between Friday 27th to Saturday 5th May. And there will be a prize draw for children who raise over £50 in sponsorship.
