Take the King’s Shilling and join us for a day of explosions!
Every wondered what it would be like to load and fire a real black
powder musket? Well, now’s your chance! We have teamed up with some
highly skilled local re-enactors from the 32nd Cornwall Regiment of
Foot to offer you this amazing course.
This course is open to those 18 and over (photographic ID will be
required). We suggest that participants have their own personal
insurance.
THIS COURSE WILL COVER:
• The History of the Musket• Drill• Handling • Loading•
Firing
On the day you can also be assessed for a certificate from the
Napoleonic Association in flintlock musket firing and safety!
WHY?
Muskets are a common sight in many period dramas, but how do you hold
them and look the part? This course will show you how to handle and
hold a musket safely and convincingly.

IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP?Yes, you need to be
over 18 to take part in this workshop. You will also need to sign a
disclaimer form and declare any injuries or medical conditions that
may affect you during the workshop.
WHAT ARE MY TRANSPORT/PARKING OPTIONS GETTING TO THE EVENT?Public
transport is limited so we suggest all those attending bring their own
car or car share. There is parking on site or near by. HOW CAN I

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE WORKSHOP?A notepad. Sorry, no handouts will
be provided.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?We suggest you wear clothes you feel comfortable in
with good freedom of movement but also warm as the afternoon will be
spent outside. Please also wear appropriate outdoor footwear.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?We also have an advanced course looking at
percussion muskets, marching and drill for people who have been on
this course first.
