Covering the history, construction and maintenance of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, our free tours are provided by knowledgeable volunteer guides. Tours last between 45 minutes and one hour and begin at the Clifton Toll Booth on the Bristol side of the bridge, crossing over the bridge and finishing at the Visitor Centre (free entry, donations welcome). Everyone is welcome and content is family friendly.
There's no need to print your ticket as your guide will have a guestlist with your name on. Meet your guide (easy to spot in orange high-vis) at 3.00pm every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday afternoon at the Clifton Toll Booth, close to Clifton Village at the Bristol end of the Bridge.
Pre-booking is not required: you are welcome to simply turn up on the day. However, we are offering booking as we know it helps you to plan your itinerary for the day.
What you need to know:
At the end of the tour, your guide may ask for donations. All money recieved goes toward the work of the Clifton Suspension Bridge Charitable Trust - keeping our Visitor Centre free and accesible to all and providing science and engineering activities and resources for families and schools. Thank you for your kind support.
These tours do not visit any of the 'hidden' areas of the bridge: to access the Leigh Woods Vaults you will need to book a space on a paid hard hat tour.
