UNDERSTANDING THE UK’S INTERNATIONAL TRADE POLICY AND HOW TO INFLUENCE IT IS KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF BRITISH BUSINESSES LOOKING TO EXPAND AND BUILD THEIR BRAND OVERSEAS. Drawing on the CBI’s wealth of political and trade policy knowledge, this workshop provides an overview of the domestic and international organisations that have an impact on how the UK trades with other countries overseas, and provides a introduction to trade deals and WTO. You will come away with an understanding of what the Department for International Trade (DIT) is doing to prepare the UK’s post Brexit trade deals, and how businesses should engage with them, including on trade deals and market access issues. You will also gain insight into the other international institutions that have a stake in the global framework for trade, and suggestions for how businesses should think about engaging and influencing them in future.
