Following Hurricane Melissa which hit the coast of Jamaica on the 28th
October this year, affecting 1.9 million residents and devastating
countless families and their homes, the Vortex Jazz Club will be
hosting a concert on the 23rd December raising funds for the
International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent appeal.
Join us for an incredible night of music and improvisation celebrating
Jamaican music - with the line-up consisting of Orphy Robinson,
Cleveland Watkiss, Leon Foster Thomas, Gary Crosby, Seb Rochford and
many more still to be announced. Tickets are being sold at 20 GBP, but
if you can, you can choose to increase your donation online to support
those affected by Hurricane Melissa. All ticket sales will be donated
directly to the charity, and we are very pleased to partner with
Universe who will be waiving their booking fee for the event.** Please
note that this is a fundraiser event, there may be changes to the
lineup prior to the concert and we cannot issue refunds due to line-up
changes.
