LOVE TREES AND PLANTS? WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS?
THEN JOIN SHEFFIELD PHOTOGRAPHER FRAN HALSALL FOR A HALF-DAY WORKSHOP
IN THE WILDLIFE TRUST'S MOSS VALLEY WOODLANDS. The focus of this
workshop will be documenting veteran oak and beech trees, and creating
portraits of the bluebells, anemones and sweet woodruff that
characterise these ancient woodlandsThe session will cover: getting
the most out of your camera equipment; matching the lighting
conditions to the subject; and how to produce eye-catching
compositions. All of which will be supported by the expert botanical
and seasonal knowledge of your host.
All types of camera are welcome, although some of the workshop will be
devoted to using SLRs. It is expected that you will have at least some
knowledge of how your camera works – please contact me prior to
booking if you need advice on this matter. Regardless of your ability,
please bring the camera's instruction manual with you.
If you have them, please bring tripods and filters. Although tripods
can be cumbersome, using them opens up a world of possibilities that
are not available with hand-held photography. A spare tripod will be
available to try out if you wish to do so – please let me know.
The cost is £30 per person and includes a set of digital notes to
download upon completion of the course. Each workshop is limited to a
maximum of eight participants and lasts for four hours.
