This is a basic sewing course for those who want to start from the beginning and learn to sew, use a sewing machine and make some things they can use or give as gifts. During the day will make three new items (a drawstring bag, reversible tote and a zipped pouch) while learning a new techniques (making a casing, adding handle to a tote bag securely and inserting a zip) which will build your skills and give you confidence to sew independently. Don’t worry if you can’t thread a needle or sew in a straight line, Steph will show you some nifty hints and tricks to help to make some really lovely things. She will guide you in choosing fabrics, threads and any other things you will need to complete the project. This class will be relaxed, informal and fun. This workshop is about immersing yourself in the joy of creativity. Steph has over 35 years experience of sewing and making things and is keen to share her love of making and creating so please join her for the chance to learn, make and grow.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Please bring a pencil and notebook and a basic sewing kit (ie needles, pins, thread and sharp scissors) and ideally a sewing machine. if you don’t have a sewing machine there will be one for you to share. Everything else will be provided. Bring a comfortable cushion if required.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided throughout the workshop.
