Epsom Downs Juniper Down and Box Hill Hike

Meet at: 10.30amWalk starts at: 10.45am • What we'll do Epsom Downs, Juniper Down and Box Hill, 13.5 miles This walk is a good opportunity to take in pretty much all the best bits of Epsom Downs & Box Hill walking. A circular walk starting & finishing at Tattenham Corner station (within the Oyster zone & ample parking at the station or nearby on Epsom Downs). We start by walking to Headley Heath via Tadworth and Walton on the Hill. From there the route passes Ashhurst and up Juniper Down to the top of Box Hill where we will stop for lunch. We continue down the hill and up again, following the Roman road Stane Street to Tyrell’s Wood before making our way back to Epsom Downs and the station. The walk is along paths and a few short sections of quiet roads. There are a couple of challenging hills but nothing too prolonged. Bring a picnic or buy lunch at the National Trust servery at Box Hill. Depending on the speed of the group the walk should take us approximately 6 hours.
