Tankus the Henge are a British band based in London, playing music that draws influence from rock 'n roll, Gypsy jazz, ragtime, New Orleans music, and theatre. A unique blend of reggae, ska and funk to ragtime and gypsy punk. Front man Jas Delorean boasts not only and incredible voice, but also some supreme ragtime piano skills and more than a few belting trombone solos.
The world of Tankus the Henge is uplifting and wild, dark and heartfelt. A 6 piece powerhouse of a band drawing visual and musical influences from old time Fairgrounds to modern day Circus; The Beatles to Tom Waits and Gogol Bordello to Radiohead, they embody a look and a sound that lies somewhere between their South East London home and the carnival town of New Orleans.
The band was a PRS for Music featured artist in 2010, and in 2011 was named by Metro as one of their "Top 10 Acts To See" at Glastonbury Festival. Other festivals that the band has performed at include the Wickham Festival and Isle of Wight Festival.
