At Gloucester Rugby, we’re passionate about developing the next
generation of players. Our Rugby Camps are designed to ignite a love
for the game in young athletes while helping them grow both on and off
the pitch. Through our expertly crafted programmes, we aim to: INSPIRE
young players to set high standards for themselves and continually
strive to improve. CREATE an engaging and memorable rugby experience.
SUPPORT personal and athletic development through structured,
age-appropriate coaching. BUILD key life skills such as leadership,
resilience, and teamwork. A Gloucester Rugby Masterclass combines
high-quality coaching, high-quality facilities and a holistic
development approach to develop every player. Evening Schedule
(Example) Welcome, Introduction & Connection with the group Session 1
- Game-based coaching - Fundamental skill development - Tactical
development aligned to the Gloucester Rugby Academy Game Model,
delivered by Academy coaches Mentoring & Individual Development
Planning - Every player to leave with an Individual Development Plan,
worked through with an Academy coach Session 2 - Positional skill
development (Forwards: Scrum & Lineout skills | Backs: Kicking &
Launch mapping) - Athletic development workshop delivered by qualified
sports scientists Session 3 - Game speed training, developing key
tactical skills aligned to the Academy Game Model - Application of
fundamental and positional skills within large-sided gameplay Our
camps are led by a trusted and experienced team of Gloucester Rugby
coaching staff, committed to making each camp an exciting and
enriching experience. All coaches hold a minimum England Rugby
Coaching Award qualification and are fully DBS-checked. Every camp
also includes fully qualified First Aiders and designated Safeguarding
Leads to ensure a safe environment for all players.
