“Who Funds the Arts and Why?”
Chair: Prof Chris Bailey. Unlike the usual Cafés, there will be a panel comprising a Chair and six panellists. It is the purpose of this event to explore the economics of the arts and the extent to which they are available, accessible, affordable and sustainable.

Synopsis:
The “Arts” empirically defines forms of human learning and creativity.
The ethos of this event is that the arts should involve everybody everywhere without exception.
Creativity can be a source of empowerment, inspiration, innovation, relaxation and rehabilitation.
The process of interaction with this creativity can touch our deepest emotions.
Enrichment is achieved through knowledge, skills and experience both in the roles as active performers and as an audience.
The arts define us as humankind so as to enact our humanity through them.
