???? What is Bindi Beats... For many - life can feel pretty
challenging right now. The world is definately in a difficult place!
We all need spaces to go - where we can just take a little bit of time
for ourselves - to dance and groove deeply with fabulous and funky
Asian beats! We need opportunities to connect and take care of
ourselves and each other. To help energise us to be and do whatever we
want to be in this wild, challenging, beautiful and brilliant world.
Especially those that feel they are close to that 'front line'. All we
ask you to do is to come and dance!! With Raggi Kotak. A Movement
Medicine journey. This is a safe space for everyone. We welcome all
forms of diversity. Whether based on gender, sexuality, ethnic
background, physical and mental diversity and experience - we aim to
create a space where we can all feel included, respected, understood
and connected. (unless you are a bigot...and then please just don't
come!) We especially celebrate those that live within the
intersections of experiences of diversity. There is no particular
level of fitness or previous experience of dance or movement work
required. Just a willingness to move and hopefully have a funky
fabulous boogie! This is an alcohol and drug free space. For us - it's
a little like a beautiful mix of being in a calm serene dance
meditation space and a wild, funky and fabulous club space. Come
alone. Come with friends. But we hope you come x SImply turn up as you
are in clothes you are comfortable to move in - layers are good -
please bring WATER TO DRINK. We dance barefoot or, if you need them -
with indoor dance shoes. This is a taught class where we will play
music and take you on a funky journey - with yourself and the
environment around you. We ask you to not talk in the space so that
you get the most from the journey - there is space just outside the
room if you want to chat. Doors open 7.15pm, please try to be on the
dance floor by 7.30pm. Price £15. £10 concessions (unemployed,
students, voluntary sector and activists). Refugees and asylum seekers
- free. If the cost is too much for you - then come anyway - and pay
what you can afford. Or speak to us - we will try to arrange an
exchange for a free place x Please share the event if it calls to you!
