Arrival drink
Double measure of Forest Gin and tonic on arrival.
History of gin
One of our team will talk you through the remarkable rise, fall, and rise again of the spirit.
Production
Learn how we create our award winning gin with an introduction to the botanicals and the process we use to distill. Enjoy a gin tasting experience of both the gins we produce.
Break
A second large gin and tonic will be served accompanied with a description of the perfect serve. Step outside, relax and breath easy in the fresh Peak District air (air provided free of charge!). You may want to converse with the local sheep at this point.
History of Forest Gin
We'll talk you through our story so far and give you the chance to ask any questions that you may have.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Over 18's only, but challenge 25 is a policy we operate at all times. Please don't be offended if we ask for ID.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Unfortuntatly no car parking is available at the distillery itself for the general public. Disabled car parking is available upon request; any special requirments please let us know in advance.
Car parking is availble on the road at the bottom of the drive. Alternitively, there are multiple car parks located in the forest so pop your walking boots on and gin will be waiting for you when you arrive! If you wish to organise a taxi then we recommend booking it in advance due to phone signal being rubbish. The Stanley arms is a good pick up point as it's much easier to find.
There is only one ticket available but I would like two
On the odd occasion this happens, we can sometimes release an extra ticket. It's not always possible however if you give us a ring or send Owen and Gem an email then it can be discussed and hopefully arranged.
I'm buying for a gift but don't know the date, can I buy a voucher?
Gift vouchers are available to buy direct from the distillery or from our website. If purchased online, they can be delivered at a flat shipping rate of £5. They are valid for 1 year following date of purchase. Unfortunately we can not take payments over the phone.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Any questions don't hesitate to email distillery@forestgin.com or call us on 01260 253245.
What's the refund policy?
Unfortunately tickets are none refundable and can not be exchanged for another date. If you are buying for a gift, vouchers are available and valid for 1 year following date of purchase.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, that is fine.
Do you allow dogs and children?
Unfortunately dogs and children are not permitted on the tour. The distillery bar is open to the general public Tuesday though Friday every week 1pm until 5pm. During this time, we do allow children and (dry) dogs.
Is there wheelchair access?
As we are situated in a 17th centuary barn, we're really sorry but the upstairs bar is not wheelchair accessible. If a member of your party is unable to go up and down stairs, we'd be more than happy to personally show you round the ground floor distillery and serve your drinks there too. There are also toilets downstairs.
Where can I go for lunch nearby?
The Stanley Arms is a short walk away and have an excellent, hearty, English pub style menu. Alternatively, the Teggs Nose tea room is a 5 minute drive away.
Do you provide food?
We have very basic kitchen facilities here, so only simple nibbles such as crisps can be served on request. You are welcome to bring along sandwiches etc so long as you take your rubbish with you.
Can I Buy a Bottle?
Purchases of an extra G&T, a cocktail, a blanket or a bottle are available from the bar. Most major credit cards accepted.
Can I smoke on site?
Sorry, but as a working distillery, we have a strict no smoking policy anywhere on the premises.
Is the bar open afterwards?
We allow an additional 30 minutes at the end of your tour for any further drinks. If we have another tour booked, then I'm afraid that we will kick you out with the sheep once they arrive!
