Referred to in the past as potentially Britain’s most haunted pub, Bate Hall based in Macclesfield has received a notable amount of media coverage due to its spooky paranormal occurrences. Dating back to 1525, staff and management claim that the eerie screams of a woman can be heard, and a ghost child has been seen by by the current owners. A recently discovery of a rope which he believes was used to hang the infamous Witch of Macclesfield.
This building contains a rich and fascinating history, when the home of the Stopford family. It is additionally trusted that Oliver Cromwell remained here as a visitor. Paranormal Investigators who have visited the working in the past have affirmed no less than 14 spirits present in the building, and with such a great amount to investigate in this captivating area it is ensured to show a spine shivering knowledge.

All of our ghost hunts at The Bate Hall start at 9.00pm but we meet up from 7pm with dinner from 7.30pm on the night.
You will have the chance to look at the building before the event, but we do start with an induction and a look at the rooms before the events.
As our guests you will be placed into smaller groups and after a fundamental talk and security brief and a short break we will start our vigils in the haunted areas of this building.
You are welcome to bring your own ghost hunting equipment, snacks, food and treats but we do have rooms to make hot and cold drinks which we provide.
We do have mediums with us on the night but if you feel you have the ability to communicate with spirits please do mention this to the team. We welcome your information to build a better picture of the history of the building.
