Dementia Friendly Film Screening of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory at Mansfield Central Library

Mansfield Central Library are delighted to be hosting a series of dementia friendly screenings of classic films and musicals. 

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory - a chance to enjoy this 1971 family favourite on the big screen. the world is astounded when Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder), for years a recluse in his factory, announces that five lucky people will be given a tour of the factory, shown all the secrets of his amazing candy, and one will win a lifetime supply of Wonka chocolate. nobody wants the prize more than young Charlie bucket...

The screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome. Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.  

Doors will open 20 minutes before the screening and there will be a 20 minute interval. We will be sensitive to the audience when it comes to lighting and volume in the auditorium. A quiet room for anyone needing a brief break from the film will be available just outside the auditorium and toilets including an accessible toilet are also just outside the auditorium door.

The auditorium is on the second floor of the building with good lift access but the seating is stepped as shown in the picture and there are 3 wheelchair user tickets available.
