Portsmouth Prison History

Originally built in 1877 as a Victorian prison to house inmates that have been given life sentences, Portsmouth Prison housed those that would normally have faced Capital Punishment. However, with this being abolished in 1965, this prison was designed to house those inmates that would normally have been put to death. This was the only prison in England that had its own exclusive wing for elderly male prisoners who were due to begin life sentences.

During WW2 Portsmouth Prison was used as a police station and laterboy's borstal but eventually closed its doors in March 2013 - Until NOW !!

Your Ghost Hunt

During your night at Portsmouth Prison you will be taking part in vigils where you are the investigator. We will be using all of the most reported active areas of the location including the wings which are thought to be extremely active.

You will be taking part in live vigils and seances and these include:

Table Tipping
Glass Moving
Ouija Boards
Seances
Group Experiments with electronic equipment
