MOHO enables us to notice and articulate subtle changes
in a person’s motivation to participate in occupation
… and shows us how we can rebuild motivation step by step
Motivation to participate in occupation can be affected by life experiences, and so we find ourselves travelling back and forth across a volitional continuum. This is conceptualised by the Model of Human Occupation in three stages: exploration, competency and achievement.
The Volitional Questionnaire (VQ) provides us with valuable insights regarding a person’s current level of volition, (or motivation to participate in occupation), by structuring our observations of their actions within any given environment. It can be used with the Remotivation Process, which provides guidelines for graded interventions to rebuild motivation for participation in meaningful activities at each stage of the volitional continuum.
N.B. This is an introductory workshop reflecting on how MOHO theory relates to OT practice. Participants who decide to use the VQ or the Remotivation Process can purchase manuals from www.moho.uic.edu

FAQs
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Public Transport - The Meadowhall South/Tinsley tram stop is directly behind The Source and there are bus stops in front of the building. From Sheffield Railway Station you'll need to travel one stop to Fitzalan Square and then pick up a Meadowhall tram. Takes about 25 minutes
Trains also run from Sheffield Train Station to Meadowhall. It's about 15 minutes to Meadowhall stop and then about 20 minutes walk to The Source - the Tram is easier.
Car Parking – From the venue: A registration form will be available at reception on the day of the event and delegates must complete their vehicle details on arrival. A parking pass will be issued and delegates will be responsible for ensuring the pass is clearly displayed on the vehicle. The pass cannot be issued prior to the day and can only be used once. Failure to display the pass may result in a parking fine.
