Walk from The Old Vine, Cousley Wood

This is a 7 mile circular walk from THE OLD VINE, which is under new management and is reputed to serve a good Sunday roast. Note this is a separate event from Graham s evening walk from the same pub on Wednesday 29th September.We have a table booked for lunch for 10 people at 2pm; please request lunch by Meetup comment ASAP. The pub is dog friendly and you may use their car park if you re lunching there; otherwise, please park on the nearby roads. Starting promptly at 10:30, we ll head west to Wood s Green and Great Shoesmiths Farm along the Sussex Border Path, then east through Buss s Green to Lower Cousley Wood and Bewl Water, then west back to the pub. The route is mostly through fields and woods, with a few short sections of road. There are a few undulations and a couple of proper climbs; the total height gain is a moderate 450 feet.
