WHAT: Join Dr Liam Herringshaw on the beach by the FILEY BOAT CLUB AND
WALK TOWARDS THE BRIGG, stopping to hunt for glacial erratics on the
beach, and admire the cliffs of till (and other Ice Age deposits),
before heading onto the BRIGG AND WORKING OUR WAY ALONG, looking for
tropical Jurassic lobster burrows and glacial limestone pavements,
among other things, finally spending an hour or so nosing around on
the BRIGG FOR FOSSILS IN AMONG THE ROCK POOLS AND STORM-tossed
boulders. This event is suitable for over 14s . We do suggest wellies
or stout footwear and a bag or bucket to put your finds in. Well
behaved dogs are welcome.
Due to COVID19 guidance we are limiting the number of people people on
our trips and ask that everyone observes social distancing advice. We
have carried our COVID risk assessment and believe that our outdoor
trips are safe to run. When you book your ticket you will be asked to
provide contact details for a lead member of you party that we will
hold for 21 days in case we need to pass it onto NHS Track and Trace.
We will not use this info for any other purposes.
MEET: in front of the Filey Sailing Club on the beach. If you walk
north from Coble Landing (where the lifeboat station is) you will find
the Sailing Club. There is a pay and display car parking at various
locations in Filey.

Please note we reserve the right to close bookings when we believe a
trip has reached full capacity, we will always ensure we have enough
leaders on the day.
