Magic was used widely in the Roman world as a tool to give good luck in life, to promote good health, to bring happiness in relationships, and to curse enemies. This talk will introduce the subject of Roman Magic and discuss some of the evidence from Roman Britain, and include examples of magical objects from York in the collections of the Yorkshire Museum.
