Do you have an idea that you want to see on the screen? A character
that deserves more time than 5-minutes in front of an audience? Or
just want to get into TV WRITING?This workshop will cover turning your
idea into a first draft, and where to take it after you've polished it
into gold. We will go over several different story theories, break
down a case study episode of television, and learn how to pitch ideas
through loglines, summaries, treatments, and having a strong first ten
pages. By the end of the workshop, you'll be able to plot and write
your own script that showcases your own voice (or whoever's voice you
want, really).
Kate and Chris met while completing their Masters in Television
Writing and have worked together on several projects since. Chris has
been commissioned to write multiple television feature films, was
selected for the John Yorke Drama Writing Academy, and currently works
in TV development. Kate has been a part of the Jed Mercurio
Mentorship, Torino ComedyLab, and the BBC Academy, which brought her
to EastEnder's story room. She currently works for River City as a
Storyliner. Both Chris and Kate have independent projects they are
currently working on/in development with.
The workshop will take place in Acting Coach Scotland (5 mins walk
from Govan subway) from 11am - 4pm (with breaks!).
