Born To Be Wide presents Local Heroes: Celebrating 20 Years of The Skinny

Born To Be Wide is set to return with a special Local Heroes evening celebrating 20 years of The Skinny Magazine. Taking place at Edinburgh Futures Institute on Wednesday 30 April, the panel will explore The Skinny’s origins and how it continues to champion Scotland’s creative talents.

Co-founder Sophie Kyle, editor Rosamund West and music editor Tallah Brash join Born To Be Wide’s Olaf Furniss in-conversation, which will also be live streamed.

Tickets £6 (proceeds donated to Attitude Is Everything and British Association For Performing Arts Medicine)

The venue is at street level so can be accessed by wheelchair, but please let us know in advance so that we can set aside a good spot in the venue (hello@widedays.com). We are happy to provide a free ticket for a personal assistant for guests with disabilities. We will also live-stream the panel for those unable to attend in person.

Ticket proceeds from the forthcoming event will be donated to the British Association For Performing Arts Medicine(BAPAM) and Attitude Is Everything. The former provides an extensive range of health services for musicians and the latter aims to improve access to live music for deaf and disabled artists, industry professionals and audiences.
