If you are visiting South Wales and you have an interest in geology or, you simply want to learn more about how the landscape of the South Wales coastline was formed, South Wales GeoTours can provide an enjoyable explanation of the geological history of the area.

Lead by a seasoned local geologist you will be guided to world-class outcrops of Carboniferous, Triassic and Jurassic rocks along the Heritage Coastline of South Wales South Wales. The trip includes discussing aspects such as:

• the Plate Tectonic configuration of the continents when the rocks were formed

• the animals & plants living at the time evidenced by the fossils in the rocks

• the structural history of the rocks since deposition

Participants utilise their own vehicles to arrive at and travel between the different localities visited on the trips.
