International Java Jazz Festival Featured in asia Indonesia Indonesia
Java The Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (JJF) is possibly
the largest jazz gathering in South East Asia. It is held in early
March at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, attracting about
45,000 visitors. The festival was founded by businessman Peter F.
GonthaIt in 2005. The three-day event features over 100 groups and
1,200 artists in 220 shows. In addition to big international names,
JJF features lots of Indonesian artists. The country's culture is very
diverse, with many jazz musicians experimenting with different
directions. Smooth jazz, R&B, fusion jazz, acid jazz, funk, swing,
bebop, cool jazz, free jazz, and a lot more genres will be presented
on ten outdoor and indoor stages of JFF in Jakarta. There will also be
over 45 exhibition booths and about 35 food stalls with delicious
snacks. The lineups of Java Jazz gets better year by year. In the past
it featured such stars as James Brown, Goo Goo Dolls, Vanessa
Williams, Dionne Warwick, Bernhoft and The Fashion Bruises, BJ the
Chicago Kid, Harvey Mason, Incognito, Chris Walker, Lee Ritenour,
Larry Carlton, Jhene Aiko, Elan Trotman, Daniel Caesar, Kevin
Randolph, LAUV, Maya Azucena, Ron King Big Band, Angie Stone, Chiara
Civello, Deodato, DJ IZO, DJ Maestro, Eric Benet, The Commodores
