ABOUT THE SPEAKERZainab Al-Suwaij is the co-founder and executive
director of the American Islamic Congress (AIC), an organization
founded in the wake of September 11, 2001 to foster tolerance, promote
civil society and civil rights, and mobilize a moderate voice in the
American Muslim community. In particular, she works with students and
YOUTH ON COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM, SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, and
community engagement. As AIC works a great deal with various USG
agencies, Al-Suwaij can also address governmental CVE policies and
practices. She speaks widely and has appeared on NPR, BBC,
Al-Jazaeera, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and Fox. She has also had op-eds in
the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Al-Suwaij has
received outstanding evaluations for previous U.S. Speaker programs,
including programs in Kuwait on CVE and online safety. Bio Video Video

Al-Suwaij has broad speaking experience and can discuss such topics as
disinformation and the use of technology and social media for both
recruitment and activism, as well as her work at the American Islamic
Conference, which focuses on leadership and community programs on U.S.
college campuses. She has done multiple programs in Kuwait, most
recently in June 2017.
