The Jaypore Store invites you for a very special workshop on the stunning art and philosophy behind Kintsugi, conducted by lacquer master, Tomomi Kamoshita. 

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted with gold powder. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

Participation Fee: Rs. 2500 (incl. of material cost)

This will be a 2.5-3 hour long workshop, where you will learn the history and philosophy behind Kintsugi, as well as how to do Kintsugi on your own. You can bring your own broken pottery, in case there’s something you want to fix, however, we will provide broken pottery as well. You will learn how to apply the lacquer and gold dust to the pottery. This will be followed by a Japanese Matcha tea ceremony.
