Self Help began as a two-piece in 2016, when guitarist and singer Danny met drummer Silke and realised a shared love for in-your-face rock and roll. The duo was later joined by bassist Lizzie and guitarist Sean, who had also found refuge in the vibrant Oxford Music Scene. The unusual combination of a fierce female rhythm section and sensitive boys on guitar soon started to make waves and attract the attention of local music hero Ronan Munro, BBC’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Dave Gilyeat, as well as ardent fans who turn up to every show. Self Help toured relentlessly across the UK throughout 2018 and released two EPs, "Birthdayboy" and “Organic Noise Kitchen”.
