Takayama Matsuri Autumn Festival

 The Takayama Matsuri Autumn Festival, which is cited as one of the three most beautiful festivals of Japan, consists of two festivals: the Spring Takayama Festival and the Autumn Takayama Festival. The greatest attractions are the eleven yatai floats which are designated as significant intangible folk cultural assets.The festival features colorful, ornately decorated floats. Some of the floats are topped with marionettes, and at set times puppeteers make them perform traditional dances. At various locations, you'll find food stalls with Japanese festival standards like yakisoba, takoyaki, steak skewers, and lots of beer.
