WORKSHOP PRESENTERS' BIOGRAPHIES:
LAUREN TEATHER
Lauren Teather is an international educator with experience teaching
in the US, Egypt, Ghana, Zimbabwe and South Korea. She is a Google
Certified Teacher and Innovator, and is currently working on
certification as a K-8 Math Specialist in International Schools
(MSIS). Lauren’s approach to math education is a conceptual lens
that connects student learning to real life applications, projects and
contexts. She currently teaches 6th Grade MYP Math, Science and Design
at Seoul Foreign School in Seoul, South Korea.
RYAN KUHL
Ryan is a 14 year international educator, currently teaching MYP
Mathematics, Science, and Design at Seoul Foreign School. He has
taught in the USA, Thailand, and Korea. His preferred teaching style
incorporates conceptually based activities while providing students
with regular opportunities to practice real-life skills in an
inquiry-based learning environment. While teaching a variety of grade
levels and students Ryan has experienced the unfortunate effects of a
traditional drill-and-kill mathematics classroom. Because of this, his
teaching goal is to always engage students through relevant and
challenging tasks.
