On Friday 22 November 2019, at 8.30 pm, Herbie Hancock will be at the
Opéra Garnier for an exceptional evening as part of the Monte-Carlo
Jazz Festival. Herbie Hancock continues his European tour begun in
October and will be performing live in concert at the Opéra Garnier
as part of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival. The jazz great’s career
began in classical music. In 1951, with the Chicago Symphonic
Orchestra at the tender age of 11, he played the first movement of a
Mozart concerto. It was not until the 1970s that he turned to jazz,
releasing an album with the newly formed band Headhunters in 1973.
Accompanied by Lionel Loueke on guitar, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums,
James Genus on bass and Terrace Martin on saxophone, Herbie Hancock
will light up the stage of the Opéra Garnier at 8.30 pm. The opening
act will feature Eli Degibri Quartet, a quartet led by saxophonist and
composer Eli Degibri. Practical information Jacket required, proper
