The High Commission of Canada is pleased to present the inaugural Arts
X Tech Canada forum in Singapore! In collaboration with the National
Arts Council [https://www.nac.gov.sg/], we are bringing together a
world-class group of Canadian artists and companies that are
disrupting the arts and tech industry. This event will showcase the
innovative work of these companies, share how Canada created a
thriving digital arts innovation ecosystem, and highlight
collaboration opportunities for Singaporeans. It will also highlight
the initiatives underway in Singapore to nurture an arts innovation
ecosystem.

experiences, such as Singapore’s popular Rainforest Lumina, the

_DR SARA DIAMOND | PRESIDENT AND VICE-CHANCELLOR OF OCAD UNIVERSITY_
* Dr. Sara Diamond founded and led the Banff New Media Institute
from 1995 – 2005, establishing summits of artists, designers,
scientists and industry, practice based and research workshops,
creative co-productions, laboratories and research in new media. Since
20015 she has led OCAD University to retain its traditional strengths
in art and design, while transforming the university to become a
leader in STEAM+D (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math,
Medicine and Design), with capacities in digital media, design
research and curriculum. In 2018 she received the Inspiring 50 Award
for women recognized for the advancement of diversity of STEM fields
from the Government of Netherlands and Senate of Canada and the Canada
150 Women Leaders, Champions and Luminaries. Diamond has led or
co-led large-scale Canadian and international research networks in
data visualization, wearable technologies, mobile technology and
content and collaborative systems such as the Mobile Digital Commons
Network (MDCN), Am-I-Able, Centre for Information Visualization and
Design, and iCity (Visualization theme). She has retained a research
and peer reviewed publication practice in history as well as in new
media, and arts and design policy, publishing over fifty peer reviewed
articles, book chapters and three publications (books/major reports)
since 2009.
* _OCAD U:_ Founded in 1876, OCAD U is dedicated to art and design
education, practice and research and to knowledge and invention across
a wide range of disciplines. OCAD U continuously builds on its
traditional, studio-based strengths, adding new approaches to learning

* Clarissa Oon has followed developments in Singapore and Asian arts
and culture since the late 1990s, first as a journalist and editor,
and then as Head of Communications and Content for Esplanade –
Theatres on the Bay, Singapore’s national performing arts centre.
From 1998 to 2015, she was with national broadsheet The Straits Times
Singapore, holding various roles from arts journalist to deputy
lifestyle editor, steering arts and lifestyle coverage and mentoring
younger journalists. She is the author of the book, Theatre Life: A
History of English Language Theatre in Singapore through The Straits
Times, 1958-2000 (Singapore Press Holdings, 2001). At Esplanade,
Clarissa is leading the development of Offstage, a multimedia web
platform of behind-the-scenes, archival, broadcast and interactive
content on the performing arts in Singapore and Asia. She is invested
in the digitisation of rich archival materials, and interested in how
the live performance experience can be extended into the digital
realm.
* _THE ESPLANADE:_ With 41,000 shows, 28 million guests over 16

the world with about 3,000 performances presented by Esplanade,

programme is an initiative by the National Museum of Singapore that
seeks to build a vibrant cultural sector, as well as engage with the
wider technology industry to encourage creative experimentation in
cultural spaces. The programme invites artists, technologists and
culture professionals to co-create projects, and provide considered
interventions that showcase the possibility of integrating culture and
technology.
* DIX AU CARRÉ / DIX2 - Design and engineering of entertainment:
since 2012, DIX2 lives in public spaces with unexpected objects,
invented and custom-designed, in order to mark the imagination and the
everyday life of people. DIX2 is a unique design space in Montreal,
Canada. Proud of its growth, DIX2 represents a playground where his
team is multidisciplinary, and the latest technologies meet.
* GSM PROJECT - GSM Project is a design firm specialized in
exhibitions and immersive experiences. We create World Expos, Cultural
Exhibitions, Brand Experiences, Science/Technology Centres and
Observation decks. We have delivered at the top of the Burj Khalifa
(Dubai), the National Museum of Singapore, the Canadian Pavilion at
the Shanghai Universal Exhibition, two world touring exhibitions for

* MOMENT FACTORY - An established multimedia studio with a full
range of production expertise under one roof. Our team combines
specializations in video, lighting, architecture, sound and special
effects to create remarkable experiences. With its headquarters based

Paris, New York City and Tokyo. Since its inception in 2001, Moment
Factory has created more than 400 unique productions, including the
