Don’t miss this opportunity to get up close with world-renowned poet and Oxford Professor of Poetry, Simon Armitage, as he shares about his poems  and reads from his latest collection The Unaccompanied. This session is moderated by Alvin Pang. Simon Armitage’s participation is made possible by Nanyang Technological University. ABOUT THE SPEAKER SIMON ARMITAGE Simon Armitage is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds. He has published 11 collections of poetry, most recently The Unaccompanied. His translation of the medieval poem of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. He was appointed Oxford Professor of Poetry in 2015. ABOUT THE MODERATOR ALVIN PANG Poet and editor Alvin Pang was Singapore’s Young Artist of the Year for Literature in 2005, and received the Singapore Youth Award for Arts and Culture in 2007.  Listed in the Oxford Companion to Modern Poetry in English, he has been translated into more than twenty languages, including Swedish, Macedonian, Croatian and Slovene. A Fellow of the Iowa International Writing Program and a board member of the International Poetry Studies Institute, his latest book is WHAT HAPPENED: Poems 1997-2017.
