Chris Martin and Larkin Poynton met in 2004, as two adolescent young punks who just loved to dance. Over the years, they boogied, made dance short films, put on community shows, taught, and hosted workshops together. Today, both Chris and Larkin have created successful careers as choreographers, received millions of views, and continued to push the envelope with their artistry. They dream of bringing sustainability and artistic integrity to the creative world by virtue of a dance company.

In order to achieve this, Larkin and Chris believe that they must create meaningful and innovative work that transcends the stage. This idea inspired them to imagine Project Home, a dance project that combines original music and narrative storytelling in a dramatic location.

They sought out directing duo Andrew Michael Ellis and Ben Stamper for their unique sensitivity to movement, and composer Jon Seale for his vision to bring music production out of the studio and into the real world. With Andrew directing visual scenes, and Jon composing an emotional score, Larkin and Chris will conduct a group of talented dancers into a symphony of soul.

Not belonging to any singular director, however, this project has collaboration built deep within its bones. Together, these creators share a unified vision – a story of home, of family, and the resilience of the human spirit.

THE GOAL

Home tells the story of a lost soul, searching for her home in a vast landscape. However, more than a linear narrative, the project is an experiment that invites the audience to fill in the story with their own experiences. Using original choreography and musical score, the film will pose more questions than answers, about what it means to belong, and to find one's true home.

We dream of bringing Home's creative team out to Iceland to create one of the first site-specific pieces to come out of our community. It's only fitting that this tale of sorrow and celebration, of loss and redemption, will take place in the monumental and untouched landscapes of Iceland. We hope that this project will be the first of many collaborative efforts among this group of talented artists.

After all is said and done the film will be made available online, but the full expression of the project will be in our live tour of the film.

In New York, San Diego, Denver, or Barcelona, we'll be hosting a premier with a live dance and music performance before and after.

PROJECT HOME SINGAPORE IS THE FINAL LIVE SCREENING AND IT WILL ENCOMPASS THE CAST FROM ALL THE OTHER PROJECT HOME. This will be the FINAL time YOU will ever get to see Project Home live.
