Dr. Eric Helms will be presenting on “Autoregulation for Physique Athletes”
Eric will discuss the current science with regards to how Bodybuilding Training should be set up, and then how to customise your training to your situation with various autoregulation strategies in a step by step manner.
10:30am to 12:00pm (including questions and breaks) Lecture 2:
“Psychological Periodization for the Physique Athlete” by Leanna Carr
Leanna’s presentation will discuss the psychological, motivational, emotional and behavioral factors associated with a contest prep and bodybuilding as a whole. Sub-topics covered include:
-Mental check marks to assess before competition prep: are you mentally ready to compete?
-Psychopathology of bodybuilders (disordered eating, body dysmorphia, food centric behavior, social anxiety, post show “depression”, and further concomitants of bodybuilding dependence).
-Methods to increase dietary adherence
-Periodization strategies: pre-prep, contest prep, & post-show
-Coaching responsibilities and considerations to optimize mental health amongst athletes

"Modern Day Contest Prep Diet Design" by Alberto Nunez
Alberto will discuss the current science and exprience on how a how to design the diet and also how far out one ought to be depending how far out one is away with regards to their bodyfat percentage, the different competitions and how to resume back to normal after the competition.
