Synopsis
For Gregório Duvivier, the Portuguese language is not merely a homeland — it is an obsession. Or, as young people might say, a hyperfocus.
Words have been an inexhaustible source of humour since the beginning of time. “In the beginning was the Word,” said God. And right after that came the grammatical mistakes. “Let there be light.” But to whom did He say it? And why? Blending stand-up comedy with spoken poetry and an elegant dramaturgy that ties everything together, the show moves seamlessly between reflection and laughter. Stand-up poetry? Linguistic comedy? Call it what you like. Gregório prefers: Poetic Comedy. Directed by actress Luciana Paes, the performance explores the power of speech and reminds us that human beings are, at their core, talking monkeys — and that all other differences stem from that simple fact.
