Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama,
Auckland. Presenter: Aggie Marek Paper quilling has existed since the
invention of paper! It is the art of rolling and cutting paper into
thin strips, rolling and pinching the pieces into different shapes and
then gluing the shapes together to form decorative art. Paper quilling
projects can be used to decorate cards, boxes, gift bags, picture
frames or even be made into 3D stand-alone art pieces. Come and learn
the fundamental techniques to decorate your own cards, boxes, gift
bags, picture frames or even create your own 3D stand alone art
pieces. Expected learning outcomes: The course will help you arouse
creativity and encourages self-expression. You will develop hand-eye
coordination, improve your focus and reduce stress. At the end of this
course you'll have created your own unique masterpieces and learned
the basics of this rather addictive artistic hobby. Who should attend?
This course is designed for those who know little or nothing about
quilling but are mesmerized by the technique and would like to learn
it. What to bring. All course materials are included in the course
fee. We'll provide tea and coffee in the staff-room for breaks. Bring
a packed lunch and meet others in the community in our very sociable
lunch breaks. Our mission: "To provide quality, affordable, adult and
life long learning opportunities which empower individuals in their
personal lives and as members of society."
